OBITUARY
Stromert

Mrs. Mathilda Ulricka Stromert passed away at her home south of town Wednesday, January 22, 1908, after a short illness and the news of her death cast a shadow of gloom over the whole community.

Deceased was born in Västervik, Sweden, April 4, 1840 and at the time of her death was 67 years, 9 months and 18 days of age. She was married in Sweden November 24, 1860 to the husband who is left to survive her. The family came to this country in 1880 locating in Pullman, Illinois, and in 1886 they came to Iowa, where they have resided ever since. Six children were born to this union - three sons and three daughters - two daughters having preceded the mother to the better land. She was a faithful and devoted christian and a kind and loving mother. Besides her husband she leaves four children, sixteen grandchildren, relatives and a host of friends to mourn her death.

The funeral services were held Sunday at the Swedish M.E. church conducted by Rev. O.R. Palm and the remains were laid to rest in the Olson cemetery. Peace to her memory.
