The sad news reaches us of the death of W.S. Shaeffer, of Stratford, Wednesday last. This young man after a long and lingering illness, passed peacefully away on the day above mentioned and was buried on Thursday, the remains being followed to its last resting place by a large concourse of sympathizing friends. He was a son of T.H. Shaeffer [and Anna Ferlen Shaeffer] one of the leading citizens of Stratford, and was in his healthy days a bright and promising young man. He was about twenty-three years of age at the date of his death. The bereaved family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends. - Jewell Record
