Andrew Quist

Andrew Quist, son of John and Anna Quist, was born southeast of Stratford, Feb. 15, 1870, and died in the home of his nephew, Ed. Sterner, Dec. 16, 1941, at the age of 71 years, 10 months, 1 day. He had been in failing health for several years.

He was never married but is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J.P. Berggren, of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Mary Powell, of Madrid, Mrs. Frank Puske, of Humboldt, S. Dak. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the Sterner home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were conducted by the Rev. C.S. Ericson, pastor of the Lutheran church. Mrs. C.S. Ericson, Mrs. Arthur Larson and Miss Velva Berglund sang, "Jesus Savior Pilot Me," and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." The remains were interred in the South Marion Cemetery, the following being the pallbearers: Fred Engstrom, Andrew Haglund, Charley and David Lundgren, Vern Olofson.

DEATH TAKES ANDREW QUIST

Funeral Services Friday at Ed Sterner Home Near Stratford.

Andrew Quist, 71, died suddenly at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his nephew, Ed Sterner, six miles south of Stratford, death being caused by a heart attack.

He had been in failing health for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Sterner home, with the Rev. Carl Erickson, Lutheran pastor, of Stratford, officiating. Burial will be made in the South Marion cemetery with Foster's in charge.

He was born Feb. 15, 1870, on a farm near Stratford and grew to young manhood there. He farmed for many years. He never married.

His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He leaves three sisters, Mrs. Frank Putzke, of Humboldt, S.D.; Mrs. Mary Powell, of Madrid, and Mrs. J.P. Berggren, of Portland, Ore., and several nieces and nephews.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
