Obituary
Peterson

The people of this community were severely shocked Friday, when they learned that S.J. Peterson had passed away. He had been ill with pneumonia for a couple of weeks and although his condition was considered serious and the outcome doubtful, his passing away was keenly felt by his many friends.

Swan Johan Peterson was born in Sweden April 7, 1843 and died at his home near Stratford, Friday, January 28, 1910, at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 21 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure a loving wife, 3 daughters, 9 grand-children and many friends. Two sons and two daughters have preceded him to the better land. He died trusting in the faith of the Savior.

He was married December 29, 1871, in Sweden to Caroline Peterson and came to America in April 1887, locating at Morning Sun, Iowa and afterwards at Keokuk, coming to Stratford about six years after coming to this country.

Funeral services were held Sunday forenoon at the residence and at the South Marion church, conducted by Rev. Alfred Swanson and the remains were laid to rest in the South Marion cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS.
We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the many kind friends who so kindly assisted us during the illness and the death of our beloved husband and father. May God bless you.
Mrs. S.J. Peterson and children.
