Miss Mavis Kusterer, 42, a teacher in the second grade at Sunset Heights school in Webster City, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo. She had been taken ill while attending summer school at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran church in Webster City with Gene Bruce, intern at the church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery at Fort Dodge. The body will lie in state at the Bruce Funeral home in Fort Dodge until 11 o'clock Monday morning when it will be taken to the church.

Miss Kusterer is survived by Mrs. Henry Kusterer of Fort Dodge; two brothers and two half-brothers, Leo and Chester Anderson, both of Wilmar, Minnesota, and Lloyd Anderson, Minneapolis and Donald Anderson of Ohio.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and the women's circle of the church where she taught Bible school.

Miss Kusterer was a graduate of Fort Dodge Junior college and also of the University of Northern Iowa.

Miss Kusterer had taught at Lohrville, Iowa, for five years before coming to Webster City in 1955. She taught two years in the second grade when classes were being held temporarily at the Armory, then moved to the new Sunset Heights school in 1957 and had been an instructor there ever since.
