Mrs. Christina Linn

Mrs. Christina Linn, nee Olofson, was born April 12, 1845, in Falasoken [Färila socken], Hälsingland, Sweden, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Noble Fry, in Stratford, April 14, at the age of 96 years and 2 days.

She came to america with her parents at the age of 4 years, settling in Wisconsin. After the death of her father, 12 years later, the family moved to Iowa. She was married, March 8, 1867, to Louis M. Linn. The couple lived for their entire married life, nearly 60 years, on the farm now occupied by her grandson, Verlyn Fry, southeast of Stratford.

To this union, seven children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. Mr. Linn, a Civil War veteran, passed away 13 years ago. The children who survive are: Mrs. Noble Fry, Mrs. W. Neese, and J. Oliver Linn, all of Stratford; Clarence Linn, of Rolfe; and Mrs. Willis Fry, of Graettinger. Twenty grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren survive.

Mrs. Linn united with the South Marion Methodist Church Jan. 28, 1871, and was a faithful attendant at the services as long as her health would permit. Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Noble Fry and at the South Marion Church Wednesday, April 16, 1941. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery.
