ALFRED LINDBERG DIED IN BOONE SUNDAY NIGHT AT 11:45

Alfred Lindberg died at the family home in Boone Sunday night about 11:45 o'clock. Deceased had been in poor health practically all winter and his death was not altogether unexpected by the immediate family. Mr. Lindberg was a farmer in this community until a few years ago when he retired from the farm and moved to Boone and he was very highly respected in this community. Funeral services were held yesterday at 12:30 from the residence and from the South Marion church at 2:00 p.m., and interment was made in the South Marion cemetery.

Deceased was a hard working man until ill health forced him to accept employment that was easier.

Alfred Lindberg was born March 27, 1852 in Östergötland, Sweden, and passed away at his home in Boone, February 4, 1923, at the age of 70 years, 10 months, 7 days. He came to America in 1881 and settled in Iowa. Later he moved onto his farm in the South Marion community where the family lived for a number of years, he and his family moving to Boone in 1921.

In 1885 he was united in marriage to Augusta Wilhelmina Brown, who passed away in 1892. In 1902 he married Amelia Alstrom. He was a faithful member of the South Marion M.E. church since 1916. His health had been failing for the last three months and when he realized that his earthly life was drawing to a close he expressed his joy over going to a better land.

He leaves to mourn his departure his beloved wife, and four children. They are: Mrs. Henry Stromert, Jennie, Clarence and Harold Lindberg.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday and the remains interred in the South Marion cemetery.
