Ricky Eugene Gatewood, age 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday morning following a sudden illness.

A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday August 5, 2016 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving is his brother Darrell (Pam) Gatewood and sister Pamela Sillick both of Cedar Rapids; nephew Justin (Jody) Gatewood and their children Paige and Parker; niece Ashley Gatewood and her son Carson; many cousins, best buds Terry and Steph Lange and Karen and Calvin.

Rick was born September 17, 1949 in Webster City, Iowa. He was the son of Donald and Betty Lou Richards Gatewood.

Rick was a loving son, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
