Abbas Habhab, Jr., 80, passed away early Christmas Day, December 25, 2013 at his home in Webster City, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 27, 1923 in Fort Dodge to Abbas Habhab, Sr and Masadie Habhab.

Abbas grew up in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School and Fort Dodge Junior College. From there he attended the University of Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army - 7745th Headquarters and Service Company, (Quartermaster) European Command (Germany) from 1943-1947. Part of his enlistment was served with General George Patton's Third Army.

Following his discharge, Abbas came home to start up a construction company, "Cornbelt Construction", which he owned and operated until retirement. While doing so, he traveled 48 states working Government Contracts for the Federal Aviation Department.

Abbas was baptized in 1953 as a member of the Church of Christ. Where he then met and married Bonnie Brim in 1954. They were the first couple married in the Church of Christ on Des Moines Street in Webster City, Iowa. They were happily married for 59 years. From this union came four children: Jeff, Abby, Amy and Nathan.

He was preceded in death by his father, Abbas Habhab Sr.; mother, Masadie Habhab; brothers, Abode, Hamode and Ollie Habhab; sisters, Adebe Bedra, Zinab Hamod, Meahebe Aossey and Ollia Homod; a great-granddaughter, Emma Jones.

Abbas is survived by his wife, Bonnie Habhab and four children: Jeff (Deb) Habhab of Webster City, Abby (Jim) McBride of Kings Mountain, NC; Amy (Dan) McBride of Bowling Green, KY and Nathan (Angie) Habhab of Chesterfield, MO.; seven grandchildren, Matt, Jacob, Sadie, Zach, Josh, Jennifer and Bryce; seven great-grandchildren, Lucas, Melayna, Julien, Isabella, Ava and Alex; sister, Scina Deaver and half-brother, Sammy Habhab.

A memorial service will be held at Fosters Chapel, 800 Willson Ave., Webster City at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013. The family will be greeting friends and relatives prior to the memorial service.
