Susan Jane Hemingway Rosenthal passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas. Susan was born on January 29, 1950 to Whitley Maynard Hemingway and Mary Carolyn Hemingway (nee Alexander) in Webster City, Iowa. Susan graduated from Webster City High School in 1968 and attended Creighton University and The University of Texas receiving a degree in Journalism. Susan married Thomas Rosenthal in Austin, Texas in 1989 and has made her home in Austin with her husband ever since. Susan was Vice-President of LWN, Inc.

Susan is survived by her loving husband Thomas Rosenthal, her son Rodney Jackson and grandchildren Sarah, Olivia and Trent Jackson, brother John Hemingway and sister Frances Hemingway-Large, Tom’s brother Edward and sisters JoAnn, MaryAnn and Theresa and many nieces and nephews.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents and sister Sarah Louise Hemingway.

Susan loved to travel with her husband and shared with him a love of all that is nature. Susan faced a long healing process from Multiple Myeloma with great courage and grace for several years before passing. Her selfless generosity and fierce love for her family will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Susan’s life will be held in Austin, Texas on Thursday, July 25, 2019.
