Obituary

DIED - At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas [Ella Ericsdotter] Vedeen in Webster Township, on Nov. 23, 1895, Miss Anna Sophia Vedeen.

Deceased was born in the southern part of Hamilton County, Dec. 13, 1868, and has always made this her home. She was sick six weeks during which time she bore her suffering patiently. She had not been a Christian during her life, but she gave her heart to God on her death bed. She seemed glad to pass over the river of death and be with her two brothers and a sister who had gained that shore before her. She departed with a smile on her face. She leaves her parents, two brothers, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn her departure. But what is our loss is her gain. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Levahn. A large gathering of friends was in attendance at the services to render their last respects to one who had been a kind friend.

Friends, one by one, are plucked away.
Soon we'll reach the shining river.
Where with them we'll meet for aye."
