Mrs. Clanahan, Stratford Resident Died Friday

Mrs. Alice Clanahan, 83, of Stratford, died Friday, Nov. 10 at the Boone County Hospital.

Mrs. Clanahan was born Feb. 16, 1889 in Stanhope, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, a 50-year member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Senior Citizens Club of Stratford and the Stratford Womans Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Otis; one son, William Douglas and two brothers, William Anderson and Sam Anderson.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William H. (LaVonne) Ramsell of Mountain View, Calif.; a brother, Arthur Anderson of Sturgis, S.D.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m., in the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford on Sunday from noon till 9 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. till 11 a.m. at which time the casket will be taken to the church where it will remain closed. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and to the Calvary United Methodist Church.
