Word has been received of the death of a former resident of the Stratford and Stanhope areas, Wilgert Anderson, 78, of Sioux City, who died Sunday, May 4, following an illness of 2 months.

The late Mr. Anderson was born in Stratford, Sept. 23, 1890, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Anderson. He was a retired farmer and moved from the Stratford area to Sioux City, a number of years ago.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Eric Glad of Stratford; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Agnes Anderson of Stratford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7, at 1 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with Pastor Youngquist in charge. Burial will be at the South Marion Cemetery.
