CEDAR RAPIDS - Richard W. Knoll, 75 died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998 at his home following a long illness. Memorial services will be held at the Sharon United Methodist Church Tuesday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Gary Dobbins officiating.

Richard W. Knoll was born Oct. 9, 1922 in Webster City. He married Carol Kolbeck on April 23, 1945 in Muskogee, OK. He was an engineer for Rockwell for 33 years. He was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church, and the Cnapos Club. He was active and supportive of Boys Scouts for 36 years, achieving Cub Master, Scout Master, District Commissioner, Silver Beaver and Wood Badge. He served in the Navy during WW II.

Survivors are his wife, Carol; sons Alan of Cedar Rapids, Ted of Wylie, TX and Paul of Memphis, TN; a sister, Margaret Nichols of Cedar Rapids, three brothers Samuel, Webster City; Robert of Robbins and Herbert of Webster City; also six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Hawkeye Area Council Boy Scouts of America.
