Anderson

The death Wednesday forenoon of last week of Reinhold Anderson at his home southeast of Stratford came as a sudden blow to his many friends in this locality. He had been ill nearly all winter but late reports state that he was improved and his ultimate recovery was expected.

Reinhold Thure Anderson was born near Tidaholm, Skaraborgslan, Westergotland, Sweden on March 10, 1855 and passed away at his home Feb. 3, 1926, having reached the age of 70 years, 10 months, 23 days.

He grew to manhood in Sweden and came to America in 1878 at the age of 24 years. He lived in Chicago and DeKalb, Ills., the first year he was in this country and came to Iowa in 1880 locating on a farm near Boone that year. During the year 1885 he located on the farm on which he died and he has lived there almost without exception since that time. He was married to Sophia Hultgreen in Chicago Feb. 22, 1913. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; three brothers, Peter and Fred M., of this place, and Emil of Luverne; and four sisters, Mrs. Lofdahl and Mrs. Peterson, both of Chicago, Mrs. L.J. Berglund and Mrs. Frank Erickson of this community, besides many other relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Lutheran church of Stratford and died trusting in God and his Savior.

Deceased was a quiet and unassuming man but he was nevertheless, a true and loyal citizen, a kind and very true neighbor and kindhearted friend. Strictly square in all things and in all his transactions with men and he could safely count every man with whom he came in contact as his true friend and to have a friend like him was to have a friend indeed. Such men as he are an asset to any community and he will be missed by many scores who have thought well and kindly of him.

Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Ekeberg of the Dayton Lutheran church and interment was made in the South Marion cemetery.
