Anderson

Mrs. Andrew Anderson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.G. Barquist, Thursday morning, March 12 at 4:15 o'clock. She had been confined to her bed for some time and had before her last illness been weak and sickly.

Deceased was born January 12, 1822, in Vestergötland, Sweden, and in July 1864 migrated to America, locating in Galesburg, Ill. and in 1882 moved to Iowa. Her husband died March 28, 1893 and she has since lived with her daughter here. She left one daughter and four sons to mourn her death also nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Christenson of Dayton. The remains were interred in the Olson cemetery.

Note: Gravestone is engraved with an incorrect birth date. Swedish records match the obituary and Stratford Lutheran Church records for Eleka Anderson, born Jan. 12, 1822 and baptized on Jan. 13, 1822, in Molla, Sweden, the daughter of Joh. Svensson and Johanna Arvidsdotter.
