Funeral services for Mrs. John S. (Iva) Heffner, 78, longtime Webster City resident, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ, Congregational, of this city with the Rev. Homer A. Doak officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Heffner will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 2 p.m. Saturday when she will be taken to the church.

Mrs. Heffner died Tuesday morning at the Americana Nursing Center in Cedar Rapids following an illness of several months.

Iva Mae Bartlett, daughter of Albert and Clara Bartlett, was born Feb. 15, 1890 on a farm northeast of Webster City. She was graduated from the Webster City high school and later attended Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill.

She was united in marriage to John S. Heffner and the couple resided most of their married life in the Webster City community. Mr. Heffner served as Iowa state representative from Hamilton county for several terms.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Charlotte) Spencer of Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Miller of Seaford, Dela., Mrs. Will (Ramona) Carthey, Newburg, Pa., and Miss Beth Heffner, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 6, 1953 and by her parents.

Mrs. Heffner was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational of this city.
