Larry (Bud) Morton, 71, Fort Dodge, a former Webster City resident, died Sunday, April 2, 2000 at Trinity Regional Hospital. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Kitterman officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Mr. Morton was cremated and there will be no visitation.

Larry Thomas Morton, son of George and Edith Brett Morton, was born Oct. 26, 1928 at Fairmont, MN. He received his education at Fairmont and Algona. He then worked with his father at the Algona Golf Course. On Feb. 21, 1948 he married Betty Ann Ruml at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. He had been employed at Beam Industries (Frigidaire), Olson Bag Company, Cornbelt Transfer and 20 years with the United Cooperative in Webster City and Kamrar. He retired in 1991. He had resided in Friendship Haven-Tompkins Health Center for the past year.

Survivors are his wife Betty; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bob Ballentine, Elma, IA., son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Morton, Webster City, grandchildren, Jody Head, Bill and Scott Morton, John and Jamie Ballentine; five great-grandchildren, brother Jack Morton, Marshalltown, sisters Edith (Toots) Marchand of Yankton, SD., Mae Brown of Spirit Lake, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Arch Morton, sisters Indy Titterington, Belle McDonald, Peg Jaqua and Bryce Phillips.
