Sterling Lewis Alvestad, 77, of Sun Valley, CA., died Sept. 21, 1999 at his home. Services were held at the Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, with Rev. Larry Mail officiating.

He attended rural Liberty Center No. 5 school and Blairsburg High School. He married Katherine Evers in California in 1942. She died in 1982. He was employed by Universal Studios for many years.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and George Carroll, brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Mary Alvestad of Blairsburg and LeVerne and Ione Alvestad of Williams; two nephews, Gene and Lonnie, and several angels who supported him through his years of illness.
