Otto Westling Dies Monday; Rites Thursday

Funeral services for Otto Westling, 71, will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist church here with Rev. N.M. Coughenour officiating. Burial will be at Stratford, Iowa with McCullough's handling arrangements.

Masonic rites were held at the chapel Wednesday night. Mr. Westling died Monday afternoon, about 45 minutes after he suffered a heart attack. He had been an Algona resident for the past 14 years.

He was born Oct. 1, 1886, at Stratford, and on Dec. 25, 1912, he was married to Rose Isaacson at Stanhope. For 24 years from 1920 until 1944, they farmed in the LuVerne area and then settled in a home at 901 N. Main street here after that.

His wife survives, as well as a son, Raymond Westling of Burt; daughter LaVerla, at home; four brothers, John and Oscar of Ft. Dodge; Art of Washington state and Charles of Alestor, S.D.; and four sisters, Freda and Selma of South Dakota, Alice of California; and Ida of Washington state.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Asa, George Balluff, Roy Bjustrum, Roy Stoffel, Earl Thompson and Elmer Kubly.
