LaVerla Westling Dies at Algona

South Hamilton (Special): Word has been received of the death of Miss LaVerla Westling, 34, who died Thursday, Sept. 29 at the home of family friends, Mr. and Mrs. John Grotte in Algona.

Miss Westling had not been in good health for a number of years but her death was unexpected.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Otto Rose Westling of Algona, a brother, Raymond of Burt; a niece, Vicki and three nephews Larry, Donald and Baljean Westling, all of Burt; a number of aunts and uncles including Arthur Isaacson of Stratford. She was preceded in death by her father Otto Westling.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. from the McCullough Funeral Chapel in Algona with burial in the South Marion cemetery southeast of Stratford.

The Westling family formerly lived in the South Marion vicinity and now reside in the LuVerne and Algona area.

Miss Westling Dies; Funeral Held Saturday

Funeral services for LaVerla Rose Westling, 37, Algona, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the McCullough Funeral Chapel here, with Rev. Merlin Davies officiating. Burial followed at South Marion Cemetery at Stratford.

Miss Westling, who returned to Algona two weeks ago with her mother, died at the John Grotte home early Thursday. They were making their home there during a visit here. Both have been residents of the Hillcrest Nursing Home at Webster City for the past two years.

She was born at LuVerne March 18, 1929, and was a daughter of Otto and Rose Isaacson Westling. She never married and was preceded in death by her father in 1958 and a brother. Miss Westling had been a resident of Algona most of the time since she moved here with her parents from LuVerne in 1944.

Survivors include her mother and a brother, Raymond, Burt.

Pallbearers at the rites were Earl Thompson, Walter Ruger, Elmer Kubly, Val Gene, Larry and Donald Westling.
