Obituary
Westling

Carl Eldon, first born son to Mr. and Mrs. Otto [Rose Amelia Isaacson] Westling, of near Stanhope, Iowa, was unexpectedly called hence the 22nd of December, 1914, at an age of 1 year, 2 months and 4 days.

The funeral service was conducted on Dec. 24th, in the parental home by the pastor of South Marion church. A large number of friends and neighbors had gathered at the occasion to express their sympathy to the sorrow-stricken parents and relatives. The blow was indeed severe for the young couple, especially so for the father, who was ill and confined to bed and thus unable to follow the remains of his darling boy to his last resting place.

Little Carl was a lively and healthy boy, he was the sunbeam in the home, and his papa saw in him a good helper for the future. But the Allwise saw it from a different angle, and so the angel of Death came suddenly in the midst of Christmas-tide and carried the soul to the kingdom of glory.

May the Lord sustain the sorrowing mother-heart, the father and other relatives in their great loss. May they all be able to say: "The Lord gave and the Lord took away. Blessed be his name." Job 1:21. The interment took place in the South Marion cemetery.
