STRATFORD - Henry G. Stromert,, 87, a former Stratford resident, of Boone, died Sunday evening at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone where he had resided since October, 1975.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 1 p.m. at the Stark-Welin chapel in Boone with the Rev. Ellis Andrews officiating and with burial in the South Marion cemetery south of Stratford.

Friends may call in Boone on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

The Hanson-Stark-Welin funeral home of Stratford is in charge of the services.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie of Boone; one sister, Mrs. Phil G. (Sigrid) Watters of Des Moines; one daughter, Inez of Omaha; two stepsons, Vincent Hendricks of Kimberly City, Mo., and Col. Clayton Hendricks of Viginia Beach, Va., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellin [Elin] in 1957; his parents and one son, Laverne, in 1939; two brothers, Charles and Richard, and one sister, Laura.

He was born April 17, 1888 at Chicago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Stromert.

Feb. 22, 1911 he was married to Ellin [Elin] Lindberg at Stratford. He was preceded in death by his wife.

In 1958, he was married to Jennie Hendricks.

He farmed south of Stratford for many years, moving to Boone in 1970.

He was a member of the South Marion United Methodist church.
