Mrs. Dora Gustafson

Mrs. Dora E. Gustafson of 1363 York St., Des Moines, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 25, 1953, of a heart ailment. She had been ill for approximately three years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley E. Gustafson, two years ago.

Mrs. Gustafson was born in Greene County, Sept. 24, 1886, daughter of Emma [Andersdotter] and Charley Gabrielson. She attended school in Stratford. She was married to Charley E. Gustafson on Oct. 17, 1906.

Mrs. Gustafson is survived by two daughters and one son: Violet, Mrs. John Adlon of Salem, Oregon; Genevieve, Mrs. W. Glenn Bayles of Des Moines, Ia.; Glenn, Mr. G.C. Gustafson of Santa Cruz, California; and three grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing four sisters and one brother: Augusta, Mrs. John Hamilton of Fort Dodge, Iowa; Anna, Mrs. Oscar Simonson of Lehigh, Iowa; Mabel, Mrs. Claude McDermott of Douglas, Wyoming; Alice, Mrs. E.A. Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa; and Andrew Gabrielson of Stratford, Iowa; and also relatives and hosts of friends.

The funeral was held at the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford, Iowa, at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 29, with the Rev. Otto S. Steele officiating. The vocal selections, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," were sung by Mrs. Otto Steele accompanied by Mrs. Cleo Bell. The Hamilton Funeral Home of Des Moines was in charge. The pallbearers were Jerry Francisco, Albert Gabrielson, Dick Gabrielson, J.R. Gustafson, John Lentz and Don Strot. Burial was in the South Marion cemetery.
