Services for Mrs. Peter Okland Held At Elim Church

Funeral services for Mrs. P. J. Okland were held in Elim Lutheran Church in Randall at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, with Pastor Quentin Quanbeck officiating. Mrs. Ole Sopeland was organist and music was by the Elim Lutheran Quartet.

Casketbearers were Larry Munsinger, Richard Tiegland, Marvin Munsinger, Amos Knutson, Ronald Seversike and Arthur Okland. Burial was in Mt. Olive cemetery near Randall.

Obituary

Bertina Gurina Anderson daughter of John P. and Mary Anderson was born Dec. 6, 1883 at Jewell, Iowa. She died Nov. 16, at the Bethany Manor in Story City where she had been a resident for some time.

She attended the rural schools in the Randall vicinity. On Dec. 6, 1906 she was married to Peter J. Okland of Randall in the Elim Lutheran Church with Pastor G. O. Paulsrud officiating.

To this union five children were born, Lloyd H. Okland and Mrs. Ethel M. Munsinger of Randall, Mrs. Beulah I. Knutson of Radcliffe, Rev. Ralph L. Okland of Rapid City, S.D. and Mrs. Grace M. Thorson of Minneapolis, all of whom survive.

Mrs. Okland was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Okland in 1954. Since 1957 she has been a resident of Bethany Manor in Story City.

Others surviving are fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren; her brother, Rasmus Anderson of Ames and her sister, Mrs. Mable Erickson of Fairmont, Minn.
