Former Story City Resident Dies Sat. In Willmar, Minn.

Mrs. Martin (Mabel) Braland, former Story City area resident, died Saturday morning at her home in Willmar, Minn.

Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Becker Funeral Home at Jewell. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Jewell.

Mrs. Braland was born on a farm east of Story City where she lived until her marriage to Thomas Solbrack. They lived in the Randall community until Solbrack's death. Several years later she married Martin Braland.

Survivors are her husband, Martin Braland; three brothers, Selmer and Henry Thorsbakken, both of Story City; Arthur Thorsbakken of Iowa Falls; two daughters, Irene (Mrs. Donald Egeland) of Phoenix, Ariz.; Alice (Mrs. Roy Noyes) Sonoma, Calif.; three sons, Arlin Solbrack, Sonoma, Calif.; Clare Solbrack, Plaza, Washington; and Walter Solbrack, Webster City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a step-son and two step-daughters, all three of whom reside at Willmar.

Her parents were the late Ole and Betsy Thorsbakken.
