Funeral service for Saramae Sally Crim, 65, Boone, were held Thursday, June 23, 1994 at the Evangelical Free Church, Boone. Carl Dorner and Wayne Messerly conducted the 10:00 am service. Interment was held in South Marion Cemetery, Stratford. Arrangements were made by Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Boone.
Mrs. Crim passed away Monday, June 20 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.
During the service Barbara Davis sang, "The Holy City" and "Be Still My Soul." The congregation sang, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" accompanied by David Howell. Bearers were Stacy Young, Tracy Westrum, Ron Hinds, Doug Anderson, Mark Westrum and David Perin.
Saramae Sally Crim was born on Sunday, Oct 21, 1928 at Corydon. She was the daughter of Halleck and Hazel (White) Baker. Saramae attended the University of Northern Iowa Teacher's College and graduated from Drake University. She was a teacher at Manson, Dayton and rural Boone schools.
On Sunday, Aug 6, 1950 Saramae was united in marriage to Vincel Crim at Des Moines. The couple lived on a farm near Stratford. Saramae attended South Marion United Methodist Church, Stratford, where she was church organist. She also attended the Countryside Bible Chapel, Stratford. Saramae was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association, Christian Women's Club and worked as a volunteer at the Boone County Hospital, Boone. Following the death of her husband, Vincel, in 1983 Saramae moved to Boone.
Survivors include two sons, Andy and Lois Crim, Stratford; Danny and Kristin Crim, Boone; daughters, Greg and Polly Rinhart [spelled Rinehart in husband's obituary], Boone; Kreg and Jody Klaver, Rockwell; sisters, Doris Richard, Corydon; brothers, Keith Baker, Kimberling City, MO; John Baker, Chicago, IL; Don Baker, Clear Lake; 23 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
