Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, April 2, 1968

STRATFORD - John Carlstedt, 72, rural Stratford farmer, passed away at the Hamilton County Hospital, Webster City, Tuesday morning, March 26, after a lingering illness.

Services were held Friday at 2 p.m. in the South Marion Methodist Church, with Rev. George Brighton officiating. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery, with the Hanson Funeral Home of Stratford in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Carlstedt is survived by his wife, Grace; one daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Lucille) Runyan of Newell; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Anna) Peterson, Mrs. Elsie Anderson, Mrs. Nettie Johnson, all of Stratford, Mrs. Walter (Nora) Ackerson of Fort Lupton, Colo., and two brothers, Herman and Clifford Carlstedt, both of Stratford.

Mr. Carlstedt was born on a farm east of Stratford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlstedt, and attended the area schools. He had farmed in the Stratford community until his retirement.

He was a member of the South Marion Methodist Church.

Pallbearers were Arvid Erickson, Glenn Peterson, Kenneth Anderson, Orland Johnson, Marvin Johnson and Leonard Wihelm.

Mrs. Severt Crim accompanied Mrs. Ashley Phipps as soloist.
