Roy F. Carlson, 68, Stratford, died Monday evening, July 7, at the Story City Hospital where he had been a patient for three weeks. He had been in ill health for the past several years.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City with burial in South Marion Cemetery.

The son of F.A. and Jennie Carlson, Roy Franklin Carlson was born Oct. 24, 1900 at Stratford. On Aug. 19, 1925, he was married to Clarice Monson and the couple farmed in South Marion Township until his retirement 10 years ago.

Survivors include his wife and three sons, Oren Carlson of Fort Dodge and Dale and Arnold Carlson of Stratford. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two sisters and two brothers. They are Mrs. Floyd (Gladys) Young, Stratford; Mrs. Ethel Town, Webster City; Glenn H. Carlson, Jewell; and Lester M. Carlson of Boone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and a brother who died in infancy.
