Adolph Westwick, son of Peter and Bertha Westwick, was born in Stavanger, Norway, Sept. 14, 1866

He died March 18, 1949 having reached the age of 82 years, six months and four days at the home of his daughter Mrs. Carl M. Johnson in Story City, Iowa.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Norway. He came to America at the age of 16 and in 1888 became a citizen of the United States.

On July 4, 1889 he was married to Gurina Munson in Chicago, Ill. The same year they moved from Chicago to Sheridan, Ill., where they lived until 1892 when they came to Rose Grove, Iowa in which vicinity they resided until 1936 when Mrs. Westwick died.

He continued farming until 1938 and since that time made his home with his children. Mr. Westwick suffered a severe stroke on January 4, 1948.

He is survived by five children, Arthur of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Carl M. Johnson of Story City, Ia.; Jesse of Springfield, Ill.; Mrs. Lesle V. Coles of Waukesha, Wis.; and Mrs. Don Eppard of Blairsburg, Ia.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mrs. Galy Edvenson who died in 1936, and two sons and one daughter who died in infancy.

Funeral services were held in Rose Grove Lutheran church on Monday, March 2. Interment was made in Rose Grove Cemetery.
