Caroline G. Scheppler, 87, Mason City, a former Kamrar area resident, died Tuesday at the Mason City hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hanford Community Church, rural Mason City, with the Rev. Dean Coffey officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City at 2 p.m. on Friday. Friends may call at the Major-Erickson Funeral Home from 2:30 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.

Caroline G. Scheppler, the daughter of Fred A. and Kate M. (Bauer) Gerber, was born March 31, 1904, in Kamrar. She attended Kamrar school and graduated from there in 1921. Following high school, she attended the Iowa State Teachers' College at Cedar Falls. She taught school in rural Hamilton County for eight years.

On Oct. 6, 1928, she married George A. Scheppler in Charles City. The couple farmed in Hamilton and Hancock counties. Since 1942, they farmed in Cerro Gordo County, until retiring.

Mrs. Scheppler was a member of the Hanford Community Church, an honorary member of the FHH Club, Grandmother's Club, Mason City Senior Citizens and a past president of the World War I Auxiliary.

She is survived by: two daughters, Coleen Whipple, Mason City, and Katie Morphew, Rockford; one son, Robert. G. Scheppler, Rockford; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one stepson and four brothers.
