MRS. GERBER DIES FOLLOWING STROKE

Came to Iowa From Germany About 60 Years Ago

Mrs. Caroline Gerber, who was stricken with paralysis Wednesday noon, died today at 10:10 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Kirchner, 1000 Bank street. Mrs. Gerber was taken from her home 930 Bank street, Wednesday after she was taken ill and never regained consciousness. Her entire left side was paralyzed.

No funeral arrangements will be made until word is heard from relatives.

Mrs. Gerber was 83 years old last August. She was born in Germany and she and her husband, Daniel Gerber, came to Iowa from Germany about 60 years ago. With the exception of a few years when they lived in South Dakota, this community had since been Mrs. Gerber's home. Mr. Gerber died 10 years ago April 1.

Besides Mrs. Kirchner, two daughters and four sons survive. They are, F.A. Gerber and H.W. Gerber, both of Kamrar; Mrs. L.E. Evans, of Timber Lake, S.D., Mrs. Edward Evans, of Waubay, S.D., C.C. Gerber of Los Angeles and D.C. Gerber of Vanestl, Alberta, Canada. C.O. Gerber spent most of the last three years here with his mother, having gone to California about six weeks ago.

Mrs. Gerber held membership in the English Lutheran church of this city, and also was a member of the Lutheran church in Germany.
