Mamie Newman, 82, Webster City, died Friday, Jan. 25, at her home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the Foster Funeral Home, Gerald Caquelin officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home is after 5 p.m. today until service time tomorrow.

Mamie Beghtel, daughter of Jesse and Frankie (Miller) Beghtel, was born July 14, 1908, in Menlo, where she attended school. She married Roy Newman on July 29, 1938, in Bethany, Mo. He preceded her in death in March 1981.

She is survived by a son, Larry Newman, Silver Spring, Md.; a stepdaughter, Shirley (Mrs. Marion) Leeper, Kamrar; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two stepsons, Robert in 1989, and Stanley in 1985, her parents and a brother.

Mrs. Newman was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and the Senior Citizens Club in Webster City.
