Ardys Hendrickson, age 85, of Radcliffe, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA. Funeral services for Ardys were Monday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Church of Kamrar. Burial followed in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery rural Kamrar.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.

Ardys Roberta Luppes Hendrickson was born to Louis and Bertha (Olthoff) Brinkema on September 12, 1930 at Kamrar, Iowa. She enjoyed playing basketball for Kamrar High School where she graduated in 1947.

Ardys was married to Arvid Luppes on August 12, 1948. They resided in Jewell and then moved to the farm near Radcliffe, Iowa. Ardys and Arvid had five children. Arvid passed away in 1966.

Ardys worked at a variety of jobs including Golden Sun Feeds and Radcliffe Friendly Fairways Golf Course.

On December 10th, 1983, Ardys was married to Eugene (Bud) Hendrickson. They lived on the Hendrickson farm for 33 years.

Ardys was a woman of faith and a member of the Kamrar Community Church and also attended Salem Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. She was an Iowa State fan and San Francisco Giants baseball fan. Ardys was known for her quick wit and her love for cooking, baking and family.

Ardys is survived by her husband Eugene, her children David (Nancy) Luppes of South Bend, Indiana, Steven (Colleen) Luppes of Papillion, Nebraska, Michael (Connie) Luppes of Hayden, Colorado, Lori (Bruce) Thompson of Jewell, Iowa and Sara (Bradley) Whitsell of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; her step children Jill (Jim) Earnhardt of Omaha, Nebraska, Joy (Lee) Wykle and Jay (Faith) Hendrickson both of Radcliffe, Iowa; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Arvid, and her sisters Ruth Berven and Marguerite Klaver.
