Lois "Jeanne" McMorran, age 77, of Jewell died Friday, December 29, 2017 at Bethany Life Communities in Story City.

Lois Jean (Halsne) McMorran was born June 7, 1940 in Webster City, Iowa to Percy and Esther (McCarthey) Halsne. She was baptized and confirmed at the Rose Grove Church. Jeanne graduated from N.E. Hamilton in 1958.

She lived and raised her family in the Williams-Blairsburg area. She then moved to Omaha, Nebraska and worked at AT & T for many years.

She met the love of her life, Mac McMorran and they retired to Mountain Home, Arkansas. Later they came back to the Jewell area to be close to her family.

Jeanne and Mac loved to travel. She has many pictures that she loved to look at and display. Jeanne loved her Savior and to sing Christian songs.

She passed away peacefully December 29, 2017 surrounded by her family at Bethany Manor in Story City. Heaven has gained such a beautiful angel and she will be singing in Heaven’s Choir.

Jeanne is survived by her children Ricki Armstrong, Rhonda (Alan) Hanson, Kelly Armstrong and Sean (Jaime) Armstrong; grandchildren Heath (Katie) Hanson, Jared Hanson, Colton (Macy) Hanson, Tyler Armstrong, Bryan Armstrong and Roman Armstrong; one great grandchild Owen Alan Hanson; one sister Diane (Dick) Barkema; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Percy and Esther, husband Mac and two children.

Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established in Lois’ name.
