Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, October 10, 2017

Wilbur Segar, 90, of Webster City, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Stephen Meyer officiating. Following the services burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time on Friday at the church.

Wilbur Wesley Segar, son of Milton and Mable Van Buskirk Segar, was born on February 15, 1927 in Blairsburg. He attended Blairsburg country schools. Wilbur was united in marriage to Marcy Engles on May 11, 1945 in Fort Dodge. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Wilbur farmed with his father and later became a plumber at L.V. Mills in Webster City. In 1954 he joined Plumber and Steamfitters Local 33 out of Des Moines and worked in various areas of the state.
He is survived by his son, Francis “Frank” (Elaine) Segar of Moorland; grandsons, Jeff Segar of Fort Dodge and Todd (Melissa) Segar of St. Joe, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marcy on January 12, 2009; siblings, Kenneth Segar, Delores Smith, Vesta Bryant, Velma Mathis, Irene Segar and Victor Mickesh.
Wilbur was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Congregate Meals in memory of Wilbur.
