Mrs. Henry Alvestad, 77, died Tuesday night at her home.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bethesda Lutheran church in Jewell with the Rev. Norbert Jolivette officiating and with burial in Rose Grove cemetery near Williams. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral home until 1 p.m. Friday.

Anna Wicks was born Dec. 25, 1897, at Story City, the daughter of John and Sarah Ostrem Wicks. She was married Feb. 22, 1916 to Henry Alvestad at the Rose Grove church, and the couple farmed in the Williams and Jewell area for many years until moving into Jewell 15 years ago.

She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran church and the Ladies Aid of the church.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Janice) Berry of Stratford, Mrs. John (June Ann) Furman of Nevada, Iowa, one son, Myron Alvestad of Stratford; one brother, Selmer Wicks of Austin, Minn. and one sister, Mrs. Helen Jean of Albert Lea, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
