Harold Halsne, 85, Webster City, died Nov. 21, 1994 at St. Luke's Northland Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Arlen Halsne officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Friday until time of service.

Harold Halsne, son of Rasmus and Bertha (Halsne) Halsne, was born July 22, 1909 on a farm southwest of Williams. He attended rural school and graduated from Williams High School. He then attended Capital City Commercial College in Des Moines.

On Nov. 7, 1937, he married Oma Rasmussen at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. He was employed as a bookkeeper for the Fred Hahne Printing Company for 38 years, retiring in 1974. His wife died in May of 1988. On July 15, 1992 he married Edith Hoover at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; daughter and son-in-law, Suellen and Daryl VanderWilt of West Des Moines; four step-children; brothers, Milo Halsne of Webster City, Torges Halsne of Williams; sisters, Gladys Larson and Jeanette Miller, both of Santa Maria, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Percy and Ruben; and sister, Serena Long. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club.
