Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Wednesday, November 20, 1935

Edgar Neff was born near Harrisburg, Va., Oct. 9, 1882. He grew to young manhood in that vicinity, and at 19 years of age he moved to Illinois. Here he remained for a number of years and was married Dec. 24, 1908, to Miss Minnie Hougham.

In 1920 the family moved to Iowa, settling in Hamilton county. Mr. Neff was an honest, upright, likeable man. He was a good neighbor, and a true friend. He lived on the farm for some years, and then retired from the farm, having sustained an injury which necessitated his relinquishing the strenuous farm labor. He moved to Webster City and for a few years had been in failing health.

His wife and companion departed this life in May 1934, and since then Mr. Neff had made his home with the daughter, Mrs. Halsne.

In earlier life, Mr. Neff was a member of the Lutheran church, but since his marriage, he had attended the Church of Christ.

He leaves to mourn his departure, five children, three sons and two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Halsne, living southeast of Blairsburg, Everett, Roland and Darwin, and Miss Marjorie, of Webster City.

There is also one brother, Paul, living in Kentucky. One brother preceded him in death, having died last May.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Foster funeral home in Webster City, and the body placed beside the wife in Graceland cemetery.
