Gerit "George" Naber, 84, Mason City, died Wednesday, March 21, at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, Paul Elliott and Robert Orr of the Gospel Hall in Mason City officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home is after 4 p.m. today.

Gerit Naber, son of Gerit G. and Kate Van Langen Naber, was born March 25, 1905, near Kamrar. He attended rural schools. He married Dorothy Pike on March 27, 1926, in Osage. The couple farmed in Mitchell County near Osage, until retiring in 1967. They later lived in Northwood, Kensett and Mason City.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Mason City; five daughters, Alene (Mrs. Thyrol) McCollough, Webster City; Donna (Mrs. Pee Wee) Durbin, Osage; Mary Holm, Mason City; Lucille McCollough, Webster City; and Doris (Mrs. Harry) Perschacher, Albert Lea, Minn.; three sons, Boyd Naber, Chicago, Ill.; Allen Naber, Crystal Lake, Ill.; and Lowell Naber, Elgin, Ill.; 33 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Epple of Wisconsin; Lucy Crowley, Waterloo; Pearl (Mrs. Harold) Pike, Dumont; five brothers, Ben Naber and Wally Naber of Florida; Pete Naber, Baldwin City, Kan.; Orville Naber, Des Moines; and Orman Naber, Las Vegas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, one grandson, one granddaughter; two brothers and one sister.
