Marcelean Anna Blue, 92, Shawnee Mission, KS, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999 in Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday at the Foster Funeral Home and after 10 am on Saturday at the church.

Marcelean Anna Friday, daughter of George and Marie Boje Friday, was born Oct. 16, 1906 at Anchor, IL. She moved with her family to the Woolstock area. She grew up in the Woolstock-Eagle Grove area and graduated from Eagle Grove High School. On March 18, 1923 she married John Frederick Derscheid at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed near Kenyon, MN. then moved the family to a farm north of Vincent. Mr. Derscheid died on Sept. 27, 1927. On August 24, 1930 she married Gurney Blue at Webster City. The couple farmed east of Webster City. Mr. Blue died on Dec. 30, 1971.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Chester Neese of Edmond, OK., Lois and Lloyd Hanson of Eagle Grove, JoAnn and Donald Heath of Ida Grove, Bonnie and Douglas Patrick, Lenexa, KS., sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Hestor Derscheid, Kellerton, Ronald and Karen Blue of Lenexa; a daughter-in-law, Betty Blue of Webster City, 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, a brother, Emory Friday of Fort Dodge, and sister-in-law, Pearl McFerren of Naples, FL., nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Judith Blue, son, James Blue, sisters, Mary Ollie Friday and Leona Fardy, and a brother, Harold Friday.

She was a former member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Jerusalem.
