Margaret Craig, 88, Webster City

Margaret Craig, 88, of Webster City, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Pastor Michael Slininger officiating. Burial will be held at Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Margaret Virginia Mae Smith, daughter of Virgil and Marie Johnson Smith, was born on March 23, 1929 in Virginia, MN. Margaret and her family moved to Iowa when she was three months old. She graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City. On April 2, 1949 Margaret married Ronald Dean Craig at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple lived in Webster City until they moved to Arizona in 1973. In 1989 they moved to Missouri. Ronald preceded her in death on January 26, 1998. She continued to live in Missouri until she moved back to Webster City in 2003.

Margaret is survived by her children, David (Bev) Craig of Webster City, Russell (Sherry) Craig of Marana, AZ, Joe (Sally) Craig of Webster City; daughter-in-law, Shannon Craig of Webster City; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard Smith of Webster City, Barbara (Jerry) Hadley of Webster City; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Craig Sr.; son, Ronald Craig Jr., daughter, Jenee Craig; grandson, Ronald David Craig; brothers, John and Donald Smith; sisters, Mary Willson and Shirley Algoe.

She enjoyed watching birds, crossword puzzles, reading and journaling. Margaret loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to visits from her granchildren.
