ELLSWORTH - Funeral services were held June 14 at the Anderson Funeral home in Iowa Falls for Edgar Burton Ward, 91, who died June 10 at his home in Iowa Falls. The Rev. H.I. Surls officiated with burial in Union Cemetery.

Mr. Ward was born March 4, 1876 at Albany, Mo., the son of William and Nancy Lewis Ward. He was married to Bessie Amelia Granby of Ellsworth, at Des Moines March 20, 1910. They farmed in the Ellsworth area before moving to Iowa Falls 17 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife, 16 children: Mrs. Dorothy Unger and Mrs. Beatrice Akers, both of Dows; Donald of Walters, Minn.; Mrs. Norma Koop of Webster City; Mrs. Freda Hutzel of LeGrand; Mrs. Shirley Hansen, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Joan Pomeroy of Estherville; Orville of Houston, Texas; Clifford of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Edith Schoelerman of Everly; Mrs. Sylvia Ayers of Jewell; Herschel of Las Vegas, Nev.; Ruth Rollene, Mrs. Donna Knott, Mrs. Edna Cessford and Milo, all of Iowa Falls. Also surviving are a brother, Floyd of LaPorte, Minn., and 50 grandchildren.

Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren.
