WILLIAMS - Ulysses Doss, 97, longtime Williams area resident, died April 13, 1981, at Northwest Hospital in Fort Worth, Tex.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist church in Williams with the Rev. David Crow officiating and with burial in the Williams cemetery. The Surls Funeral home of Williams had charge of the services.

Ulysses Doss, son of Doc and Emily Adams Doss, was born March 4, 1884 at Nancy, Ky.

He was married Jan. 1, 1908 at Nancy, Ky. to Lucy Jane Sumner, who preceded him in death.

He had resided most of his life near Williams where he and Mrs. Doss engaged in farming. Surviving are four sons, John and Everett of Williams; Albert Doss, Mt. Clemens, Mich., and Ray Doss, Fort Dodge; three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Beyer of Indianola, Mrs. R.L. (Evelyn) Hamilton of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mrs. Les (Mary) Sedam of Williams; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bowman of Farmer City, Ill., and Mrs. Flonnie Burgin of Elkhart, Ind., and one brother, Herbert Doss of Faubush, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, two sisters and four brothers.
