Ethel Ankrum, 71, Webster City, died May 12, 1995 at her daughter's home in Webster City. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Walsh officiating. A scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Foster Funeral Home. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday until 9 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Webster City.

Ethel Bernice Olson, daughter of Francis and Mae Richey Olson, was born Oct. 2, 1923 at Pomeroy. She moved with her parents at the age of 10 to Webster City. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. On Oct. 14, 1944, she married Homer Ankrum at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City, Washington State and in Germany. In 1963, they moved back to Webster City. She had been employed with the Farm Journal and Northwestern Bell. In 1971, the couple was divorced. Then, she became activities director at Crestview Manor. For the past eight months she resided at Crestview Apartments.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Ankrum of Oak Park, Ill., and Tom Ankrum of Lake Forrest, Ill.; daughters Mary Williams and Peggy Fuhrman of Webster City, Patty Ankrum of Mt. Vernon and Janet Lovelace of Puyallup, Wash.; eight grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Olson of Rock Falls, Ill.; sisters Frances Amelsburg of La Crescenta, Calif.; Madonna Ruhl of Melrose and Phyllis O'Neal of Atascadero, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Oliver Olson.

She was a past Regent of Catholic Daughters, a member of the Rosary Society, the Hamilton County Public Hospital Auxiliary, the Quilt Patch Club, the Town and Country Garden Club and Business and Professional Women.

Memorials may be given to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Hamilton County Hospice.
