Chef Brandon John Huisman, age 40, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his family home in the Canggu area of South Bali, Indonesia on May 21st, 2017. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg with Pastor Ron Lotz, officiating.

A gregarious character loved by all for his disarming hospitality and infectious laughter, Brandon is the glue that will continue to bind his many loving family and friendship circles together.

Born on April 6th, 1977 in Janesville, WI to parents Rodney and Karen [Keller] Huisman, [grandson of Benard & Grace Roe Huisman - buried at Rose Grove Cemetery, rural Williams, Iowa] Brandon spent his life in pursuit of adventure and extraordinary experiences around the world. Brandon enjoyed his formative years in Singapore amassing many of his lifelong friendships and developing his appetite for diverse cultures and cuisines. He graduated high school in 1995 at the Singapore American School and went on to earn his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University. Brandon moved to Paris shortly thereafter to attend the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu where he received his culinary degree and met his future wife and business partner.

Brandon and Nicole traveled the world together finding new friendships and shenanigans all along the way before settling into Bali, Indonesia to start their family and entrepreneurial chapters.

Brandon is survived by his wife Nicole, children Joseph and Sabrina, parents Rodney and Karen and brothers Brian (B1), Brent (B2) and their families.

Brandon was a loving father, husband, son and brother, an exceptional chef, a loyal friend and the bona fide life of every party. His style was effortless and he had a penchant for comfortable clothing, Vikings football, spicy foods, cold beverages and above all quality time spent laughing with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
