Kathryn Elizabeth Brant, 85, Zearing, formerly of Story City, died Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Zearing. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 1:30 p.m. at the Grace Methodist Church in Story City, Rev. Ray Hampton officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. The Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home of Story City was in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn Elizabeth McLeish, daughter of John and Jesse McLeish, was born July 27, 1904 in Fairbanks. She married Harold M. Brant on Dec. 30, 1924 [his obituary said Dec. 29, 1923]. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Hohneke, Story City, Wilma Philbrook, Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Beverly Brinton, Everett, Wash., a brother, Bob McLeish, Maynard, a sister, Nell Finders, Hemut, Calif., 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
