Stanhope Sentinel, Stanhope, Iowa, Thursday, September 10, 1925

Emma Myrle Philp Wahman was born, March 6, 1897 in Tama County, Iowa, and died August 30, 1925 at her home in Stratford, Iowa, at the age of 28 years, 5 months and 24 days, following a lingering illness of about two years.

She was married to Bernard Leroy Wahman, March 19, 1919, and to this happy union one child was born, a girl now aged two years.

The deceased leaves to mourn her loss and miss her presence, her husband, Bernard Leroy Wahman, her baby girl, Maxine, her father, Mr. James Philp, two brothers, Leo and Donald, and a sister, Mrs. Lucile Hanson, all living in the vicinity of Stanhope, as well as a host of friends and near relatives.

Mrs. Wahman was a member of the Church of Christ in Stanhope, having became a member at the early age of 16. She has been a faithful and true follower of her Lord ever since exemplifying in word and deed the spirit of her Lord. She was a loyal and devoted wife, and upon her child, Maxine, she lavished all the affection of a mothers heart. Father, brothers and sisters and husband will have forever the memory of her enshrined in their hearts.

Her friends and acquaintances will feel that they too have suffered the loss of a friend out of the crown of friendship.

The funeral services were held from the Church of Christ at Stanhope Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. G.H. Dick, assisted by the Rev. I.G. Randals.

The pallbearers were: Roy Davis, Edgar Whalen, W.M. Parker, Arthur Bockwaldt, L. Angstrom and R.D. Wright.

Interment was made at Stanhope Lawn Hill Cemetery.
