Last week we noted the fact of the serious illness of Guy Stark and this week we are called upon to chronicle the sad news of his death. This bright young child made a brave fight with the last great enemy, but without success, and the light of life ceased to burn Tuesday morning, March 6, 1894. All that was mortal of Guy Russell Stark was laid to rest in the cemetery southeast [Lawn Hill Cemetery] of town the Wednesday following. On account of the contagious character of the disease, no public funeral services were held, but quite a number accompanied the remains to the burying ground, where the services were conducted by Rev. J.D. Bateman. The deepest sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved parents. Memorial services will be held later.
