Myrtle Green, 94, passed away on October 31, 2009 at the Bright Kavanagh House. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4 at Brooks Funeral Care, 7975 University Blvd, Clive. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 5 at Lawn Hill Cemetery in Stanhope, Iowa. Myrtle was born on September 27, 1915 in Stanhope, Iowa to Elling and Hulda Hove. She worked at the Ordinance Plant in Ankeny during the war and later at Tri-States and Central States Theatres in the payroll department. She married Miles Green on December 23, 1952 and they co-owned Iowa Floor Maintenance for over 10 years. She later retired as a sales manager from the Ardan Department Store. After retirement, Myrtle and Miles loved buying and selling antiques and she was featured on the Home & Garden Channel for her fine collection of purses. She will be missed by her children, Charles (Kathy) Clark of Adel, Larry (Barb) Green of Stanhope, Gary (Michaeline Acker, Sioux City) Green of Galt, Fred Green of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Miles; brothers, Melvin and Erwin; and sisters, Evelyn, and Levona.
